Wondering how we do things at the Ceramics Cafe?
Well don’t worry. This page explains it all.
When you walk into the studio you will be greeted by a member of staff (wait a few minutes if he/she is busy).
You will then be led to your table and given a talk explaining how we go about things at the Ceramics Cafe.
After that you will be able to choose from our wide range of shapes, sit down and start painting.
When you have finished painting bring your finished item up to the studio counter. Staff will provide you with a personalised receipt describing the items you have painted.
Your decorated shapes will be glazed and fired by the staff. This will give it that nice shiny look. In a few days your bisque will have been fired and you can take them home to use as a normal item.
We are living in a world where individual expression is encouraged, but mass consumerism dictates what we buy, where we go and how we spend our leisure time. The Ceramics Cafe offers you the opportunity to create something that is uniquely yours. Starting with a plain white bisque shape, you paint on your design using ceramic under-glazes, we fire it for you in the kiln, and your piece is ready for collection within 2-4 days (Firing Schedules).
Painting ceramics appeals to both adults and children alike. Come along on your own, with a group of friends or organise your next party with the Ceramics Cafe.
What does it cost?
A visit to one of our Ceramics Cafe studios need not cost the earth. We operate a very reasonable session fee of £2.00 per decorator with no charge for supervising adults. Each session lasts up to two hours.
The only additional cost is the In Studio (material) cost of the items painted. Most cost between £5.00 and £15.00.
We use only the best quality material and fire our items high. This makes them strong enough for everyday use.
Most bisque is manufactured in our Basingstoke factory.
